Creator tools

How YouTube creators use Vid Receipts to claim their channel, earn a verified badge, pin timestamped receipts, and engage their audience.

Creator tools

Vid Receipts Creator plans are built for YouTube content creators who want to use timestamped, rich-text annotations as engagement tools with their audience. Think of it as a verified annotation layer on your own videos.

Who are Creator plans for?

If you're a YouTube creator, whether you make educational content, commentary, tutorials, or entertainment, Creator plans give you tools to:

  • Claim your videos and channel: take ownership of your content on Vid Receipts
  • Get a verified badge: stand out as the official creator
  • Post on unlisted and private videos you own
  • Pin important receipts to the top of your videos
  • Moderate at scale with priority AI moderation

The Creator Hub tab

Your home base for channel verification is the Creator Hub tab in your dashboard (previously "Channels", then "Creator"). It has two sections:

SectionWhat you can do
Feed channelThe single YouTube connection that personalizes your feed. Not verified, it just powers recommendations.
Verified channelsThe channels you've proven you own through YouTube. Each one earns a gold creator badge on your receipts, and you choose which persona it posts as.

The Creator Hub tab is available on Creator Pro and above. There's also a /creator portal page for the same tools.

Verifying your channel

Verification is instant and proves you own a channel by signing in with YouTube, there's no manual review or waiting. Once a channel is verified, the receipts you post on that channel's own videos, as the persona the channel is bound to, carry a gold creator badge.

Channel limits by plan: Creator Pro can verify 1 channel. Creator Elite can verify unlimited channels, so you can manage separate verified identities for several YouTube channels from one account.

How it works:

  1. Go to your dashboard → Creator Hub tab.
  2. In Verified channels, click Connect a channel (or Verify this channel - see below).
  3. Sign in with YouTube and pick the channel you want to verify. We confirm ownership directly with YouTube.
  4. The channel appears under Verified channels right away. Pick the persona it should post as.

One-tap verify for the channel you already connected. If you've connected a YouTube channel for your feed, the Creator Hub tab recognizes it and offers Verify [your channel]? so you don't have to reconnect. Tap it to verify that same channel, or choose Use a different channel if your creator channel is a different one. Either way, YouTube still shows its account picker so you confirm exactly which channel you're verifying.

Switching your verified channel

To keep verification tied to a channel you genuinely own, your plan's distinct-channel limit governs changing it. The number of different channels you can verify follows your plan (Creator Pro: one; Creator Elite: many), and disconnecting a channel doesn't reset that lifetime count. Reconnecting a channel you've verified before is always allowed, the limit only applies when you move to a new channel. To verify more channels at once, upgrade to Creator Elite.

Creator badge

The creator badge is a small gold rosette with a "Creator" label that appears next to your persona name on the receipts you post on your own channel's videos. It tells other users that:

  • You're a confirmed YouTube channel owner
  • The receipt is authored by the person who owns the video, posting as the persona that channel is bound to

The badge is scoped to your own videos and your bound persona: a receipt you post on someone else's video, or under a different (masked) persona on your own video, does not carry it. Your Verified Badge tab in the Creator Portal shows your current badge status. If you have an approved channel claim, the badge is automatically active, no extra steps needed.

The gold badge

On videos your channel owns, your creator receipts carry a gold badge in the header: a gold rosette and "Creator" label that set an official creator note apart from a regular receipt at a glance. The card itself renders exactly like any other receipt in every state, only the badge is gold, and it stays high-contrast and easy to read in both light and dark mode. It's purely visual, so nothing about how the receipt works changes.

Pin receipts

With Creator Pro or Elite, you can pin receipts on videos you've uploaded to YouTube.

A pinned receipt:

  • Appears at the top of the receipt list for that video
  • Is highlighted with a "Creator Pick" badge
  • Draws attention to key timestamps, corrections, or additional context

Use cases include pinning corrections or clarifications, highlighting key moments, and surfacing community-submitted receipts worth amplifying.

Engagement summary

The Creator Hub tab shows a quick engagement summary for each verified channel, so you can see how your receipts are landing at a glance:

  • Receipts: how many you've posted on that channel's videos
  • Validates and invalidates: how the community voted on them
  • Comments: replies your receipts have drawn

Creator Elite additionally sees your top receipts by vote score, so your best-performing notes surface first. The engagement summary is live now; the deeper per-video analytics below is still in development.

Creator analytics

Creator analytics is currently in development. The Analytics tab is visible in the Creator Portal on Creator Elite as a roadmap preview, but live data is not yet available.

When analytics ships, the planned surface covers:

  • Receipt views and vote patterns per video
  • Comment activity and timestamp engagement (which moments generate the most receipts)
  • Per-video breakdowns and historical trends
  • Creator Elite only: multi-channel analytics and data export (CSV and JSON)

Check the changelog for updates on when analytics goes live.

Priority AI moderation

All Creator plan users get priority AI moderation:

  • Faster processing of content checks on receipts and comments
  • Unlimited moderations per month
  • Advanced content analysis for nuanced content decisions

This keeps your video's receipt feed clean and relevant.

If you downgrade or cancel

If you drop below Creator Pro, the following creator features are no longer active:

  • Your verified badge stops appearing on new and existing receipts
  • Pinned receipts remain in the database but are no longer displayed as pinned to other users
  • Your creator feed stops accepting new receipts and becomes inaccessible to visitors
  • If you hold multiple verified channels (Elite only), all verified channel links are suspended

Your receipts and content are not deleted. If you resubscribe to a Creator plan, your verified channels, pinned receipts, and creator feed restore.

Getting started as a creator

  1. Sign up or upgrade to Creator Pro or Elite from Plans & Billing.
  2. Open your dashboard → Creator tab (or go to /creator).
  3. Verify your channel in the Verified channels section, sign in with YouTube and pick your channel. Your verified badge goes live right away.
  4. Pick the persona each verified channel posts as.
