How do timestamps work?

When you create a receipt, the timestamp is captured automatically from wherever the video is playing. You can adjust it manually before saving. Click a receipt's timestamp and the video jumps to that exact moment.

My receipt timestamp seems off. What happened?

Pause the video at the right moment before opening the receipt editor. If the captured time isn't quite right, adjust it with the time controls in the editor before you save.

Can I change a receipt's timestamp after saving?

Yes, but only within the 15-minute editing window after creation. Once that window closes, the timestamp is locked along with the rest of the receipt.

Do receipts sync across devices?

Receipts saved to public, private, or custom feeds sync across all your devices automatically. Drafts and the working tray are stored locally on the device where you created them, so they don't appear elsewhere.

Who can see my receipts?

It depends on the feed. Public feeds are visible to everyone; private feeds and drafts are visible only to you; custom feeds are visible to the people the feed is shared with.

Can I make a public receipt private?

Yes. Use the move or copy feature to send a receipt from the public feed to your private feed or a custom feed.

Are my votes anonymous?

Yes. Other users cannot see who voted on a receipt. Your voting activity is private.

Can other users see my personas?

Other users see a persona's display name and avatar when you post under it, but they cannot see your real account details or which personas belong to the same account.

How long can I edit a receipt?

You have 15 minutes from creation to edit a published receipt, with up to seven edits in that window. After it closes, the receipt is permanent and can no longer be changed.

What happens when I delete a receipt?

The receipt is permanently removed along with its comments and votes. This cannot be undone. If you're unsure, move it to a private feed or save it as a draft instead.

What if the original YouTube video is removed or made private?

Your receipts stay in Vid Receipts, but the player shows a "Video unavailable" message. The receipt content, timestamps, and discussions are all preserved.

Can I recover a deleted receipt?

No. Deletion is permanent. If you might want a receipt later, move it to your private feed or save it as a draft rather than deleting it.

How do I connect my YouTube account?

Go to Settings, then YouTube, then Connect YouTube Account. You'll be redirected to Google to authorize the connection. The YouTube connection guide has a full walkthrough.

How do I disconnect my YouTube account?

Go to Settings, then YouTube, then Disconnect YouTube Account. Your receipts and all other data are unaffected.

Can I use Vid Receipts without a YouTube account?

Yes. You only need a Google account to sign in. Connecting YouTube is optional and adds browsing features like viewing your subscriptions.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account and all associated data from your account settings. The data and privacy guide explains what is removed.

What plans are available?

Free, Individual Pro, Creator Pro, Creator Elite, and Business Starter, plus White Label Business (coming soon). The subscription tiers guide has a full comparison.

What happens when I hit a limit on the free plan?

Receipts are unlimited on every tier, so you never run out. For features like custom feeds and storage, you'll see a notification when you reach a limit. Your existing data is never affected.

Are receipts really unlimited on the free plan?

Yes. Every tier, including Free, gets unlimited receipts. The free plan includes no custom feeds of your own, but you can join others' custom feeds and use public, draft, and YouTube-connected feeds without limits.

Can I switch plans at any time?

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your receipts, feeds, comments, and votes are never deleted when you downgrade or cancel. You keep unlimited receipts on every tier; some features like custom feeds and extra storage are reserved for paid plans.

Do you offer refunds?

We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the period ends, so there's no lock-in.

Is there a free trial for paid plans?

Yes. Every paid plan comes with a 14-day free trial. We collect a card when you start so your plan continues without interruption, but you're not charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then at no cost. Each plan can be trialed once. The free plan is also a generous starting point if you'd rather explore first.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards, through Stripe. Business Starter plans can also be invoiced.

How does per-seat pricing work for Business Starter?

You pay for each team member in your organization. When you add or remove a member, your next invoice adjusts automatically. The Business teams guide has the details.
