Signing in
Connect your Google account from the extension's side panel.
Signing in from the panel
Open the account section at the bottom of the side panel and click Sign in. Google's standard account picker opens in its own window. Choose the account you want to use and the panel signs you in, no separate Vid Receipts password to set up.
If you already have a Vid Receipts account from the web app, signing in with the same Google account in the extension connects to that same account, same receipts, same feeds, same plan.
What signing in adds
Signed out, the panel shows the public feed for whatever video you're watching. Signing in adds composing a receipt, voting, commenting, and posting to your private or custom feeds.
Signing out
Open the account section and click Sign out. The panel returns to its signed-out state and keeps showing the public feed for the video you're on.
One sign-in per browser profile
The extension's sign-in is tied to your browser profile, separate from being signed in to vidreceipts.com in a regular tab. Signing in on the website doesn't automatically sign in the extension, and the reverse is also true; each surface keeps its own session.
