Creating a persona

Set up a new persona with a custom name and avatar to post receipts under a different identity.

Creating a persona takes just a few seconds. Personas let you post receipts, comments, and vote under a different identity, useful when you want to contribute without using your real name.

Steps

Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner.
Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
Scroll to the Personas section.
Click Create New Persona.
Enter a display name for this persona (up to 30 characters).
Choose an avatar:
- Upload an image: click the avatar or "Upload Image" (max 10 MB, supports JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP)
- Generate one: pick a DiceBear style (Adventurer, Pixel Art, Bots, etc.) and click the dice button
Click Save to finish.

Your new persona is immediately available for use.

Every account has a default persona that uses your Google account name and photo. This is your real identity and cannot be renamed, it can only be changed through your Google account. You can customize the avatar of your default persona.

Tips

Choose names that fit how you want to be seen (e.g., "MovieBuff42" for casual takes, or "Dr. Smith" for academic commentary).
Other people, including a feed owner who invited you, see only the persona name and avatar. They can't see your account, and they can't tell that two of your personas belong to the same person.
You can rename a persona at any time from Settings. Personas can't be deleted, only renamed, so a name can't be recycled and your posting history stays intact.
